What is a CEPA?
A Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) is a credentialed professional trained to help business owners plan and execute a successful transition out of their company.
The CEPA designation is issued by the Exit Planning Institute and is held by 11,000 advisors worldwide. To earn the credential, advisors must complete a rigorous program covering business valuation, deal structures, owner personal financial planning, value acceleration, and team-based exit planning methodology.
Why it matters for business owners:
Most financial advisors are built for the accumulation phase - growing a portfolio over time. A CEPA® -credentialed advisor is specifically trained for the transition phase: helping you understand what your business is worth, what it could be worth, what you personally need from the exit, and how to bridge that gap.
For construction and trade business owners, this distinction is especially important. Your wealth is concentrated in your company, your exit timeline is finite, and the stakes of getting it wrong are high.
Aaron Louisell, CEPA®, CFP®, CIMA® brings this specialized expertise to every engagement, integrating an exit planning team with comprehensive personal financial planning so that your business transition and your financial future are aligned from day one.
